Lee Commissioners Declare a 7 Day State of Local Emergency

FORT MYERS, Fla (October 18, 2005) - In the abundance of caution and because it will not be meeting again until next Tuesday, the Board of Lee County Commissioners this morning declared a 7-day State of Local Emergency due to Hurricane Wilma.
The declaration allows the county to use emergency funds if they should be needed and sends a message to residents that they should monitor the media.
The Lee County Emergency Operations Center is monitoring Wilma and its projected paths.
